This condition existed for years.  The council members unfortunately do not experience city government from the citizens' side of council chambers.

Another solution would be to grind down the bottoms of the center legs a little.

Several of the bench seats in City Council Chambers have had a problem for years.  When a person sat on either end of the bench, the entire bench would pivot on the center support legs.  This problem was mentioned to Councilman Drennen recently.  After only two weeks, the councilman saw to it that these benches were permanently anchored to the floor.  Problem solved thanks to Councilman Drennen.
