Greg,

Thanks for the info on the fires.  I think the house that was located at
number 51 Woodbine was a yellow brick house with stone trim - which
had been sitting vacant and had the interior gutted out of it already.

It's a shame this one burned - I had been interested in buying the property
and restoring the interior of the house as it was a lovely old home.  The
roof on the house was still water-tight the last time I checked it.

Oh well, I guess "urban renewal" took care of this one.

Ok I'll post a reply here too :)

Hi Allan,

I double checked the Youngstown Metro Fire Page Database at
youngstownfire.com and came up with the following info for you...

1/10 1714 Bryson Fully Involved Structure on Arrival
12/31 42 Indiana Working Structure Fire (Frat House)
12/30 51 W. Woodbine Fully Involved Structure on Arrival
12/22 Park and Bryson E7 On Scene with fire showing 2nd floor

* They had to go back to 42 Indiana 3 times because it kept
relighting. It was a frat house and the inside was a maze. Luckily,
all the students living there were on break. I have photos from the
first call for 42 Indiana at
(http://www.youngstownfire.com/galleryyfdia/index.php?gallery=.%2F2005-12-31+-Gr\
eg+Ricker+-42+Indiana+-OSF+-2nd+Alarm)
THey also went to Woodbine a second time to extinguish some hot spots.

Hope that helps!

I was talking to one of my roofers on the phone today and he said that
two houses burned on the block bounded by Bryson Street, Woodbine
and Illinois Avenue......

Does anyone know which houses burned (ie: street addresses?) or have
any photos?

I also read that a fraternity house on Indiana Avenue burned recently.
