As the value of land has skyrocketed in eastern Ohio's Utica zone, because of the minerals, the only available land for the people is the abandoned lands of Youngstown and the City Landbank.  What I'm trying to do here is pass the word along to the community is now is the opportunity to invest in your piece of land in Youngstown, at a very affordable price from the Landbank. 


Tomorrow, I have a meeting with Tom Humphries from the Chamber to work together on clearing up the dormant lands and offering Youngstown land for future development.


Another thing is retirement.  For those of you who need to plan for it, just think of what a little land with minerals will do for you and your family.  Take a .25% of an acre, at an average it would be $250 per month.  Or an acre, $1000 per month for 30 to 50 years.

If the City Landbank is ready to divest it's acreage to the people, with the attached minerals, how many here will be interested in investing in their own capacity for land and minerals in the Utica wet gas zone?

Belmont and Harrison county last week broke the record and leased the Piedmont acreage for a whopping $7500 per acre signing bonus, a record in Ohio's Utica.  With the completion of billion dollar infrastructure in the southern Utica, energy development there is now rampant.
The northern Utica which is Mahoning county going north is just beginning to complete it's infrastructure and is beginning to develop rapidly across the border in Lawrence county.
The City Landbank is in the position to lead Youngstown in future development.  Youngstown is the largest urban center that sits smack right over the "wet gas zone,"  in high demand by the energy companies and rare in the energy world.  As we can see Youngstown is targeted for energy industry and soon drilling albeit, outside coming in.  Youngstown's Landbank has tremendous value now and I am pleased that it is beginning to understand its wealth and leadership of the City forward.
