Workers, community members and concerned Ohioans packed into union halls in Bryan, Lima, Marion, and Sandusky for another round of SB 5 petition trainings on Tuesday night.  The trainings – organized by the Ohio AFL-CIO and AFL-CIO Central Labor

At the Reno training on Monday
Councils (CLCs) – drew hundreds of eager volunteers to learn the nuts and bolts of gathering petition signatures that will allow voters to cast a citizens' veto of Senate Bill 5 in November.  Tuesday's trainings came on the heels of hugely successful petition training events in Ashtabula, Cincinnati, Cleveland Dayton, Lorain, Niles, Reno, Toledo and Youngstown where thousands turned out even with the threat of severe weather and tornadoes.

"Tuesday's events only confirm the momentum driving the groundswell of opposition in all corners of the state," said Ohio

Hundreds turned out Monday in Dayton
AFL-CIO President Tim Burga.  "Ohioans are standing up to Kasich's vision of an Ohio where workers are given 'shabby at best' benefits, where the middle class becomes a distant memory, and where our local communities have to fight for survival from devastating cuts to firehouses, libraries, schools and other services we depend on.  People are ready to take back Ohio and they understand it begins with the defeat of SB 5 in November."
