Title: Message For Rick

Rick: I know that you have a collection of photograph of Republic Steel during World War Two, but do you have posters that were placed in plants during the war?

By taking those photographs and coupling them with the posters you could make a fantastic slideshow presentation that could be shown to high school students especially with your keen knowledge of the subject.

A presentation of this kind would be a swell event for your museum, and would create an interest in your project among the young people.

You are referring to the patriotic posters created by the govt. during the war?  Such as the "Rosie the Riveter" and "Loose Lips Sink Ships" ones?   Yes it is certainly one of many ideas floating around for educational programs and probably something that we will eventually do.  I wish I had more time to create exhibits but it seems like all of my time is spent going from one closed down mill to another salvaging what I can before the scrappers arrive.

I have been collecting Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Republic Steel advertisements from the mid 20th century with plans to someday create an exhibit of ads.  The Republic ads in particular were more of a political nature touting the advantages and benefits of free enterprise over communism and socialism, something that would be extremely relevant today.
