The former Medicine Shoppe building, corner of Mahoning Avenue and S. Hazelwood, has a new owner who is anxious to find a new tenant. The building has plenty of parking to the west.
The 34-Steel and 40-Austintown buses stop in front of this building.
Any idea of the rent?
I'll ask the guy from the neighborhood association who knows the new owner.
I think the Pig Iron Press should leave the downtown and move to this building.
A convenience store is moving into this building.
What's the scoop on this store?
Lets hope that it doesn't go the way of other convience stores in Youngstown ... crime ... drugs ... murders ... etc.
If a store mainly sells alcohol, cigarettes and junk food, it tends to cater to the lower end of society. Let's hope this new store actually provides wholesome foods for the west side.
If it is a "Red & White" store, you can bet your last penny that it will handle junk food, liquor, lottery tickets, tobacco, and a few low end groceries at high prices.
Let us know the name ASAP.
