the books that rush blvd is speaking about were books that was used to read to the children at the ssbb festival. the books came from the Newport library and the books were returned via brownleewoods library.

I was told by the gentleman who organized the event that the pierogi came from a deli in Boardman.

I also enjoyed being on Midlothian Sunday.  The weather cooperated; I had pie and coffee with friends at

the cafĂ©.  I also purchased some great Halloween cards, and my husband bought me some natural beauty

items from one of the vendors.  Good job!  I look forward to the one planned for the east side in the spring.

My dear friend Jay:

It would be my distinct pleasure to verify that the pierogies were made by the same folks that make them for the Church you spotlight on South Avenue IF iwasthere will be so kind as to bring me a plate of them on his way home from the event since he will be passing my abode on his way to his.
tt I would had if I read this blog before today in which is the day latter. :( they were good my frd, tt., next yr. there several members of this forum that was engaged in this event, moi. I read books that had democratic socialism underlying messages to the kids. ;) ::) ;D

Some positives

The weather cooperated.
The event was well attended.
Even the fourth ward councilman was there.
I met many people from the west side and north side.  There were people from Girard, Hubbard, Liberty and Boardman to name a few.
I had my photo taken while sitting in a vintage corvette.

That's not the answer I got at the pop up pierogie place when I asked.

A friend gave me a ride to the south side better block today.  I asked who made the pierogies.

The response was

A deli on Market Street in Boardman made the pierogies (all 1,000 of them).

To improve the south side, I would only expect that this food item be made on the south side.  That is how you help your own neighborhood.

Towntalk,

Please verify the maker of the pierogies when you attend the Better Block this weekend.

See Jay, we told you a hundred times that the pierogies are MADE IN YOUNGSTOWN BY YOUNGSTOWNERS FOR YOUNGSTOWNERS TO PUT INTO THEIR YOUNGSTOWN TUMMIES. NOW the big question that Jay is waiting for ... WERE THEY MADE ON THE WEST SIDE?

Peggy Gurney

The pierogies are being freshly made in Youngstown. NOT store-bought.

Don't forget Mrs. T pierogies. Oh excuse me they are made in Pennsylvania.  :'( :'(
