I suppose there may be a market for these flights, but with Ohio Casinos starting to open I would rather see people stay here to lose their money..................

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport needs the public's help to start a flight to Sin City.

The airport is competing with Pittsburgh International Airport to collaborate with Caesars Entertainment out of Las Vegas to start a flight to Las Vegas starting in September. It's a casino junket flight, where the casino will pay for most, or all, of the transportation to Vegas.

People can go to the airport's website and take a survey indicating that they are interested in flights to Vegas. Caesars Entertainment will input from the surveys to choose which airport to travel from.

"They should select whatever duration they're planning on staying, typically three to seven days. And, they need to indicate that they'd like to stay in a Caesars-Harris family hotel casino," said Dan Dickten, director of aviation for the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.

Caesars Entertainment is expected to make a decision on which airport they will travel from by the end of this month.

"This is a last surge, our final surge, trying to convince Caesars that this is the place to fly from to service Las Vegas with the 7 million people that live in Northeast Ohio," Dickten said.
