Jay: Most people do not realize that there are hidden costs that must be factored into the costs of tickets.
The orchestra members pay. They do not work for nothing.
The cost of transportation
The royalty fees on all the music that is played
Not only are the members of the orchestra paid for the concert, but also the rehearsals. They are members of the musicians union and not amatures who can work for nothing.

Then there are all the costs that the venue must pay for that have to be factored in.

Actually given the size of the orchestra, $200.00 a ticket is normal.

I know that there are those who would even consider $10.00 a ticket is too much, and would prefer that the concerts be FREE, but that is not going to happen, and with the Trump Administration shutting down the agency that aids the Arts, every Symphony orchestra is cutting back on the number of concerts it has each year, and the price of tickets will go up.

You can thank those who sold their souls to The Donald for this situation, for not only is it affecting YSO, but also Butler; O Wow; Mahoning Valley Historical Society; the Steel Museum; the Youngstown Playhouse; East Street Production; and the Victorian Players.

I checked the YSO web site and while the event is scheduled for June 10, 2017 with a rain date of June 11, 2017, that is all that they have listed as of today. Call the YSO Box Office for price of tickets.
