Reading this obit leaves me heart broken for the family. It's hard enough when a loved one dies a natural death, but when he is violently murdered the pain the family must endure coupled with anger is so much harder.

Cases like this highlight the need for ALL of us to look out for each other, especially where elderly folks are involved, we more often than not talk the talk, but do not walk the walk, and that tends to make hypocrits of us.
When my family was whole, one of my biggest fears was not being close by if they needed me, and I kept them close to me. Now I'm in the position where I'm a senior citizen and were something to happen to me, I could lay dead for days before anyone even knew about it. To be perfectly honest, it scares the **** out of me.
It takes little effort on people's part when you get right down to it to check up on our neighbors. A simple phone call now and then, or for those who have a computer a simple message that requires a response would go a long way, but very few of us even take the time to do those simple things, so personally I have little faith in my fellow man.
It might sound cold on my part but there are only two people who I know that I trust, one is a family member who lives in Pennsylvania, and the other is a very close friend who is more like family to me, and does look out for me even though he already has his hands full looking out for his Father and Mother. As for everyone else that comes in and out of my life, quite honestly, I couldn't care less. I'll treat them with the same degree of respect that I would want people to treat me, but beyond that, I hold them at arms length.

I hope the SUB-HUMAN GARBAGE that killed that poor old man is caught and
made to suffer as much as possible.

FIFTH LEAD ... West Side Murder
Victim named ... neighbors live in fear ... say area is drug infested and not safe. Not even safe to go to church say neighbors without fear of being robbed.
