What a waste!

It's hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like the house on the right has some fire damage. (I know it's going to be demolished too, but I hope the architectural features are salvaged before they do.  Or, before it's also burned >:()

A couple more photos....

I have to give a BIG "Atta Boy" to the Y.F.D.  They kept the fraternity
house wetted down while allowing the house to do a controlled burn to
the ground - and also kept the house on the right side of it from burning
down at the same time.

There were flaming embers raining down all over the place for almost a block
in any direction - when I got back to my van, the roof was almost completely
covered in soot and ash.

This morning around 3-3:30 a.m. I was driving back to the North Side from
some friends' house, and there was yet another house burning down on
Pennsylvania Avenue - right next to a fraternity house.

Luckily, I had my camcorder with me and got both still photos and
about 20 minutes worth of video.  I sure hope they catch this person(s)
very, very soon...

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the arsonist either:

a) thinks that they are "helping" the demolitions department by clearing
out the last of the vacant houses in this neighborhood.  There are two
vacant houses to the right of where this one was... both on the demolition
list, both of which have been photographed and shown on this board before.

b) is totally deranged, out of his(there/her) freaking mind(s) and in desperate
need of incarceration and/or commitment to a state phsychiatric hospital...

c) possibly an agent acting for a third party (ie: a developer, an owner trying
to cash in on insurance money, etc)........

d) something else entirely....

:(
