Well, lately, I brought my hatchet to Defend Youngstown's mediocre facebook site to bury it thinking Phil Kidd threw off his community organizing ties and embraced free enterprise with his Youngstown Nation store. Initially he was perplexed why I offered my support if he ran for Mayor, I was just taking the high road and really just wanted to DEFEND YOUNGSTOWN by works rather than bloviating. I even offered a project of leadership for Kidd to show us how he would lead.
And as many have experienced, when Kidd can no longer debate intelligently, he "picks up his marbles and goes home." I know I am not the only one kicked off his DY site. It wasn't that long ago on this very site where debate to help Youngstown was a drag out knock down fight here and Kidd begged the moderator here to throw me out.
I must say this however, I am defintely not correct all the time and I have my faults. And I am willing to learn. One lesson I learned was from Mr. Dennis Spisak who showed me a higher road and I followed him, I tried to pass this on to Kidd but I'm afraid he has an agenda.
Bottom line, Kidd most likely will grow old with mediocre accomplishments which he honestly believes will propell him to a leadership position. Sadly, his time has come and gone. His preaching is no longer required in a boom town that is being newly populated by the production and intellegensia class. Kidds preaching is now more appropriate for Detroit that needs defending. Youngstown is entering its second industrialization and understands its direction wherein, the old leadership by the unqualified is over.
Kidd, has never invested in property in Youngstown and is free to leave anytime and like an eastsider said the other week, "he ain't even from here."
