New Locally Driven On-line Shopping Website Developes Solution To Spring Local Economy: Print
Image
A new on-line shopping company known as ValleyPurchases.com (commonly reffered to as Valley Purchases ) has developed a means of contributing to the support and growth of the Mahoning Valley's physical brick and mortar businesses as well as the areas general economy. What makes this website different than others of it's kind is that it has has purposely devised a solution to stimulate economic growth for local traditional businesses as well as itself, which is anything but traditional. First, this business is an online webstore hosting loads of wholesale items (at nice prices as well). Second, the virutal business has created a supplimentel e-commerce fund in order to assist local physical business. The newly released e-company has founded something known as the the MVRP (Mahoning Valley revitilization Project) Organization also known as simply The "MVRP". The MVRP is a local economic support organization which maintains a monetary fund supplimented directly from profit's accrued from sales at valleypurchases.com. Checks are distributed quarterly deriving from the fund in complete random fashion to local physical businesses with no more than 70 employees.  Those businesses receiving benefit from the MVRP are in a contractual agreement that moneys received from the fund must go toward the businesses expenses and/or growth. Valleypurchases has recently gathered several area businesses (listed below) as members. The new ebusiness has no governmental involvement in this new movement and maintains it will rely solely on the community to drive the cause.  Unlike ebay this website is not an auction site and sells no used products.  According to valleypurchases.com the idea stems from the need to revive the Mahoning Valley's economic strength it was once known for in an entirely different direction. Ian Billen of Valley Purchases wants a different direction to be opened and explored versus traditional fund raisers and /or governmental assistance in reviving the areas economy. The concept here is clearly to embrace internet related technology instead of hindering it or being reluctant. Subsequently, ValleyPurchases.com wants to "share the wealth" so to speak with traditional businesses in the Mahoning Valley.

President of ValleyPurchases.com, Ian Billen, proudly states:
"What is being implimented is going to be the first internet based e-commerce (internet business / purchasing) solution that is targeted to helping actual brick and morter physical companies hand in hand. We foreseen the probability of an economic recession coming down the pike. Regardless, as you know our area is not exactly thriving economically in the first place. So we planned quite a bit and did some brain storming on a new approach to stimulating both virtual as well as physical business in the area. ValleyPurchases.com is the result. I really think it can help things out quite a bit around our area and hopefully it will lead to starting a "motion" in other parts of the country.

ValleyPurchases.com has a considerably large number of different items listed in serveral different categories. Around the house, computers, stereo and home theater, kids stuff, things for the office are to name a few. In addition, shipping is completely free at this webstore. There are no handling or transaction charges and the website is proudly Guardian E-commerce Certified. Guardian e-commerce Certification is a very reputable integrity and security based certifcation that is aquired only by online e-businesses that adhere and practice their online sales under strict security and additionally follow specific consumer support guidelines. Valley Purchases representatives seem intent on making a positive change in which support is created for businesses on both sides of the digital divide.

American Red Cross Encourages Blood Donations During National Blood Donor Month

Every year since 1970, blood collection organizations across the United States have recognized January as National Blood Donor Month. To help ensure an adequate blood supply, the American Red Cross has joined with AABB and America’s Blood Centers to stress the importance of donating blood.

January, in particular, can be a difficult month for blood centers to collect blood as inclement weather and the onset of cold and flu season make it difficult for donors to give. The New Year has already started gravely for The American Red Cross Northern Ohio Region, losing over 600 pints of blood due to absent donors.
