Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and the Raymond John Wean
Foundation are member/supporters of the Fund for our Economic Future. The
Fund for Our Economic Future is a philanthropic collaboration that works to
strengthen the economic competitiveness of Northeast Ohio
We are asking you to take
part in selecting projects for funding by the EfficientGovNow program, an affiliate of the Fund
for Our Economic Future. EfficientGovNow aims to accelerate government
collaboration and efficiency by providing as much as $300,000 in funding to
three collaborative government projects from throughout Northeast Ohio.
Two projects from the Mahoning Valley are among the nine finalists
for the grants. The winners will be decided by the public, who can vote at http://www.efficientgovnow.org/. We are asking you to go on the website and cast
your vote for the Valley projects listed below. You can also vote by calling 1-877-771-5206, or with a mail-in ballot included
in brochures at libraries throughout Northeast Ohio
Each person can only vote once. You will be asked for your

1. Mahoning / Youngstown Regional
Information System (MYRIS)
Partners:
Mahoning County Auditor's Office, City of Youngstown, Boardman Township,
Austintown Township, City of Canfield
The
project partners aim to create the Mahoning/Youngstown Regional Information
System to provide high speed connectivity to local governmental units for the
purpose of providing three primary services: access to critical information to
assist law enforcement agencies within the participating political
subdivisions; general IT Support; and disaster recovery. The goal is to enhance
the quality of life for all Mahoning Valley citizens by providing efficient and
cost effective government services through cooperative IT solutions.
2.
Mahoning River Corridor Web site
Partners:
Mahoning River Corridor Mayors’ Association communities (Lowellville,
Struthers, Campbell, Youngstown, Girard, McDonald, Niles, Warren and Newton
Falls)
The
partnering communities propose to implement an interactive and comprehensive
web site featuring in-depth information regarding sites available for economic
development in the river corridor. The participating communities would share in
providing the matching funds to implement the project and, thereafter, would
share the cost of managing the web site, providing an enhanced service and
reducing their cost.
Your vote will spur more
collaboration and cooperation in the region, which we believe will improve
government operations, save taxpayers money and increase the Valley’s
economic vitality. Let’s show the rest of Northeast Ohio how much
we support government collaboration in the Valley.
Thank you for your help!
